I have often heard first-time greenhouse owners saying this is exciting, but I have so many questions about how to operate a hobby greenhouse. Greenhouse gardening is similar to outdoor gardening with seasonal activities. The difference is that the greenhouse gardener must learn how to control the greenhouse environment with heating, ventilation, air circulation, lighting, water and humidity. Of course questions arise as to what plants to grow and at what temperature. So the next step is to collect information on greenhouse gardening.

In 1994, I wrote and published the book In Your Greenhouse - A Beginner's Guide to answer the many questions for the new greenhouse owner. Those who purchased this greenhouse gardening book said it gave them a good start to enjoying their greenhouse year-round. By popular demand this greenhouse book had a second printing in 2000 and it's third printing in 2004.

Every time a new greenhouse season begins, we try to remember what took place in the greenhouse last year I know all to well what it is like to write notes on the greenhouse activities and then look for days for these misplaced notes. After asking greenhouse owners as to what information they keep records of, I wrote and published a two-year journal titled My Greenhouse Journal.
